Dear ALES Students,
This year marks a milestone as we evolve the ALES Graduate Research Symposium into a full-scale ALES Graduate Research Conference. For the past eight years, the symposium has been a key event for graduate students, faculty, and professionals across four diverse departments: Agricultural, Food & Nutritional Science; Human Ecology; Renewable Resources; and Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology. After the success of last year’s symposium, which saw over 200 attendees and 60 graduate students, we’re expecting even greater participation this year. The expanded conference will offer more networking opportunities, increased exposure for student researchers, and a chance to foster collaboration across disciplines.
This year, we are also excited to welcome ALES upper-year undergraduate students to present posters alongside graduate students. This year’s conference theme is “Ecofusion – Shaping a Sustainable Future Together”, which focuses on the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration as students from the four departments share their research.
Conference Dates: April 1–2, 2025
Venue: Lister Conference Centre
